Lexington's Hope For Japan Fair - June 11, 2011

Location: Bridge Elementary School, 55 Middleby Road, Lexington 02421

Date: Saturday June 11th, 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m.

The Japanese community of Lexington will hold an event to celebrate Japanese culture and to raise funds for the Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims. The event will include hands-on experiences of Japanese culture – both traditional and contemporary – for local residents, including  demonstrations and workshops of Chado (traditional tea ceremony), calligraphy, Ikebana (flower arrangement), origami, Kendo (Japanese fencing) and introduction to Japanese literature with local author, Yukari Watanabe, as well as a presentation on Anime by LHS students.  An extensive selection of Japanese crafts, greeting cards, jewelry, ceramics, event T-shirts and baked goods will be on sale.
